Ability to drag and drop files directly from Outlook into Procore
I want to be able to drag an attachment open in my Outlook email app (desktop) into my Procore browser.
This would speed up the process right now of needing to drag the attachment to my desktop first.
We wanted to provide an update and give some insights into this idea. After much investigation, we have determined that this functionality is not something that Microsoft Outlook currently supports. In order to make dragging and dropping of files and emails from Outlook into a browser, it would require an application to be installed on individual devices. A few people have posted comments about fee-based applications like this that already exist on this thread.
Until Microsoft makes this option more feasible and better supported, Procore is currently focused on how we can help ease the burden without needing to building and installing a separate application. Many of you are already aware of the efforts being done from within Outlook via the Procore add-in. But if not, this functionality is focused an creating items in Procore from Outlook. You can learn more here: https://support.procore.com/integrations/procore-outlook-addin
We will continue to keep this ticket open for future updates.

We had this ability and now it is gone, it is very helpful to be able to drag document directly from Outlook into Procore Sync or drive. Please do all that you can to reinstate this feature.
I am using Outlook 2016 on Windows 10 desktop and can drag .pdf attachments into browser window and attach. Works in bid tool, invoices, submittals, etc.

We have the same issues as Jake Mathis
We can drag and drop files/emails from outlook into other websites just fine. So I'm not really sure why Procore is saying it's unsupported... I'll put a support ticket in with Microsoft and see what they say.
*As for the procore plugin that is not an option for us as it's not supported by the desktop version of outlook.

So I have recently figured out that we CAN drag and drop email ATTACHMENTS from outlook directly into procore (via chrome) for RFIs, tasks, etc. This is HUGE and prevents the previous unwanted extra work for now reason.
I have also recently figured out that you CAN drag and drop EMAILS (not just attachments) from outlook into procore (via chrome) for RFIs, tasks, etc. The BIG ISSUE I've noticed is once you drag the email to procore, it is moved to the "Deleted Items" in outlook by default. This DOES NOT happen if you just drag an outlook email to your desktop or windows explorer (or any other location via a windows machine) from what I've experienced. I'm not quite certain who the culprit is? Procore? Outlook? Either way, it would be much appreciated if this could be resolved.
Just to be clear I am NOT using the procore outlook add-in for what I have described above. I do still utilize the add in though for other items (and it's great).

It only works on Edge not Chrome

Procore has an outlook plug-in that allows you to send files directly from outlook to tools within Procore. You can get the plug-in on the marketplace.

Please develop this. This will save a tremendous amount of time having to save the files to a folder then upload/attach them into Procore.

Develop the capability to move files directly from emails into the documents tool in Procore.

Please add this!
@Maria Huckaby - my point exactly...the admin doesn't seem to get it, so how do we expect it to get fixed?

When is the implementation coming?

This post started with the inability to drag and drop an attachment directly from an email out of Outlook. The work around is to purchase another program (Outlook2Web) which then allows all attachments from an email the capability to be dragged and dropped. Customers feel that this feature should be part of Procore and not an additional cost. This post has nothing to do with logging emails into Procore.

From outlook, without opening the attachment, you can drag and drop into a network folder in another window that has file explorer open.
We cannot do it in Procore. we have to first save it in the network folder and then, you can drag and drop from the file explorer. This takes extra step that we don't think is necessary.
The admin's responses don't seem to align with this issue. What does the ability to drag and drop an attachment (pdf file) directly into Procore from an email, have to do with how emails are logged into Procore? or Outlook integration into Procore?

Wow, This was first posted Jan. 2016- (over 3 years ago), has had 380 votes and is shown as a "LIKELY" to implement??? Not to mention that majority of businesses use Outlook.
What is it going to take to get this done?
As of now, one cannot drag drop files from Outlook, (email) into a submittal. It first has to be saved to the computer which is a time wasting step.

Be able to drag and drop items from EMAILS, not only items saved locally on my computer."

Make procore to where you can drag and drop an attachment from an email directly into procore, instead of having to save the attachment to your desktop and then being able to drag and drop it into procore.
