How can we improve Procore?

Distribute by Trade and/or to Related Trades

I would a feature to be able to mark a box to get notification for RFIs and Submittals approvals that were not submitted by me or that I am not on the distribution list. This would be in order to track items that will influence my scope of work.

There should be a field in the RFI to select a trade. If we filter to multiple trades, it would be greatly effective in sending pertinent RFI's to new subcontractors as they are hired.

Would be very helpful to have an 'Add trade' selection to RFI & Submittal tools to identify disciplines easier.

It would be nice if you could set up a distribution list for each trade when creating, updating, etc.. Submittals. User does not want to receive emails regarding other trades besides their own when they are on the mass Distribution list in the configure settings.

Add a trade column to Submittals for filtering/reporting purposes. This would help with organization

There should be a selection to identify the Discipline of an RFI, IE: Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, etc.
This can help greatly with filtering RFIs and can assist the project team with identifying possible affected trades or consultants that would need to be copied on the RFI

Working with all Submittals private by default... Giving subcontractors read-only access to all Submittals is too broad and adding them individually to each submittal's Distribution List can be inefficient (especially when there's multiple sub contacts).

An option to give them read-only access only to their associated Responsible Contractor's submittals would be much simpler. Maybe there could be a secondary checkbox for Private, something like "Visible to Responsible Contractor."

It would be great if there was a way to apply placeholders for trades on an RFI so that once they are on-boarded, we can mass-apply the contractor to the trade and they are reflected in the workflow. This way, all of the trades necessary are aware of past RFIs that are relevant to them.

{Submittals} To add the Field for "Discipline" when creating a new Submittal for organizational purposes and better information about each submittal. If this specific field is not easy to add, it would be helpful to have the option to create a few Custom Fields to be able to accommodate to the projects needs, such as 'Discipline' and others they might need.

RFIs should be able to be tagged and sorted by a discipline. Ex) You can sort all RFIs for architectural, plumbing.HVAC etc.

    Similar to sorting by location.

RFI received from, it only allows you to indicate the contractor responsible. We receive a lot of documentation internally that we issue to our contractors. I can never list anyone of our team as received from.

Can we have the option of making the received from not only from the responsible contractor?

Add trade (multi selector) to RFI's. We often have response that will effect future trades. If we had a selector that we could sort by it would much easier to get new subs the RFI's that pertain to their trade.

When trying to keep team members up to date with relevant RFI's, it would be great to filter out items for scopes of work that have already been completed. This would slim down the active RFI's let's say for past concrete items resolved rather than just taking out the subcontractor in the filter. Something like an active archive to hide closed items.

When writing an RFI and filling out the information for the Responsible Contractor, the question received from is not always from the identified contractor and could be a person from the general contractor's team.

Responsible contractor for an RFI should be able to be more than one company.
Or you could rename it since it links to who the question is received from.
An RFI can affect multiple trades.

I frequently get thanked by sub contractors that have more than one project that uses Procore. They tell me that they appreciate that our company only sends RFI's that actually applies to their scope of work as opposed to their other projects that send EVERY RFI to them and its up to them to sort through which one applies or not.

That creates a situation that means they ignore Procore emails since they cannot sort through them all.

My idea is that there be some sort of selection tool (drop down )that lets a admin pick more fluidly or easily who gets the closed RFI or auto scan tool that can tell when a scope of work is likely to be impacted and ask the admin if the RFI should be sent to the contact at those companies that may be impacted automatically. - That will likely take quite a bit of programming but would be awesome[nothing is impossible].

You should be able to assign multiple cost codes to an RFI. Currently you can only assign one cost code per RFI and multiple trades/cost codes can possibly be effected.

    RFI templates
    - should have a dropdown for "Discipline" such as Arch, ID, Structural, Mech, Elec, Landscape etc.
    - SHould be able to set up a distribution list for all designers on a project being cc'd rather than having to choose individuals with standard permissions.
