Daily Log Configurability - Custom Logs
As a user, I would like to create custom logs in the Daily Log tool.
There are mixed comments posted on this UserVoice thread regarding customization, so we would like to let you know that we recently released a feature within the Company Admin settings of the Daily Log tool(Site Diary). The Manpower Log, Daily Construction Report, Notes Log and Observed Weather Conditions all have configurable field sets. This allows Company Admins the ability to select which fields are “required, optional or hidden” similar to other tools within Procore.
In addition, we have RELEASED the ability for custom fields within the manpower log. This new feature will allow Company Level Admins to add custom fields to a Manpower Log fieldset (required/optional..) to track additional information necessary for their project or company. Users will also be able to pull these custom fields into Reporting to further track progress against ongoing goals.
Last but not least, when enabling the DL: Manpower Log project configuration setting “Include Employees in ‘Company’ Dropdown” this will allow Standard and Admin users to select employees from within their own company on the Manpower Log – Company picker. The selected user will need to be within the project directory and have the checkbox “is an employee of X Company” selected from within the directory as well.
This does not solve for the problem of re-sizing the columns, or, customizing the names of logs, but, this might get you closer to where you want to be.

Thanks for this info. Will these custom fields and required fields be copied over from templates when starting a new project?

We still need the ability to add completely custom sections, which include custom fields.
Different teams have different reporting requirements, some of which are not manpower, notes, materials, equipment, or weather related.

These are great additions... has there been any progress on allowing non-admins to enter observed weather conditions?

Customization is key. Every company has different items that need to be tracked on projects and could vary job to job based on the customer/client. Being able to create your own log item and have more flexibility within the existing logs would make this tool usable across the board.

Customization for the daily log tool is a must! We are unable to use the daily log the way it is currently configured. For instance, in the construction log it would be great if we could add titles of people we actually employ, and even get rid of the word construction, or other fields that we do not need.

Currently the daily logs do not fit our needs and are very time consuming. It would be great to be able to customize these more to accommodate our needs.

It would be nice to have the option to create custom logs, fields (attendees list), and customize column headers in the daily log tool.

Not only should we have the option to customize column headers, we should also have the option to create completely customized sections. For example, we track and report on various Behaviour Based Observations that are submitted on a daily basis (Positive Observations, Hazard IDs, etc.). There is currently no good place to report this in the Daily Log. Would be nice to create a specific section and then also be able to run a report on these items.

It would be a great feature to allow a custom log to be created within the Daily Log tool. Users have daily meetings in which they walk the site, record notes, and develop meeting topics. The Meetings tool can capture the items, but having a log to report on daily would allow the process to be less formal, which is highlight of having the log available.

With prevailing wage requirements now requiring field input of staff on site on a daily basis, including name and position, we request the option to add custom columns into the Manpower and DCR logs.

I would like to add another post to request to 'CUSTOMIZE COLUMNS' in the Daily Log. There are several posts that mention this capability, one post which has 59 Votes and labeled 'Likely to Implement'. Each company records different information, so it would be useful to be able to pick and choose which columns/headers we use. Otherwise when the log is exported it appears incomplete if some information is not entered.
Please Vote if this option will help your Daily Log be more accurate and professional.

I was asking customer support if I can modify the Daily Log settings to specific job site details that the owner of the company wants in her daily reports. The current tabs that are set up are not ideal for what the owner wants on the report. So like on the Notes Log.. if we could customize a tab so that we can add the verbiage she wants and in the order she wants it. Please advise if this can happen. I just promoted Procore in our leadership meeting that I was sure we could set up customized tabs to show the information she wanted.....
Can we add a section for:
‘Services’- on the Daily Log format/page

This is valuable for GC's too, and I am hearing it requested frequently. Also, this would need to be available on the mobile applications to provide the most value.
