Markup on Documents Tool
Wanting the ability to markup documents in Procore instead of downloading, marking up outside of Procore, and re-uploading
Thank you for your feedback! We have shared your post with the development teams. We will update this space if we have any questions or change the status.
PDF editing in documents for iOS. Needing the ability to bookmark, highlight, and make notes on PDFs. Would be great for personal copies of the specifications and other project documents.

Design teams and 3rd party groups often supply projects with field reports on their own company specific documents. Teams then need to create records in Procore to trigger follow up by responsible parties but this is often tedious work requiring copying/pasting/extracting text and images from a PDF report into actionable observations.
Impacted Business Process:
Distributing action items initiated from an external PDF document through observations.
In addition to a bulk import template for observations (idea linked below) it would be great if Procore implemented the submittal builder technology into documents and allowed teams to highlight sections of a PDF document to create observations or punch items. Expected behavior would be that the document would be linked to observations similar to how inspections and observations are linked.
Create the ability to markup documents in the document tool just like drawings.

Would like the ability to markup items uploaded into the documents tool in Procore, like we can with the Drawings tool

Add the mark up tool to documents
I would like to be able to mark up a document in the same way that you can mark up drawings.

A basic editing ability to markup, add text and sign PDF/JPG attachments.

Edit the list view PDF of any tool. Companies should be able to edit forms on their own. I want to add a signature field to my re-allocation print out for client approval when the SOV is submitted each month.

Please make the same markup tools available for the Drawing tools made available for the Documents tool
It would be so nice to do inline edits on PDFs in Procore vs having to save it on your personal drive and then reattach it.

It would be very helpful to be able to mark up documents just like you do with plans.
Make documents easier to manage in the documents tab. Emailing them, separating proposals when going from Prime Co to Sub CO...

There needs to be a way to markup PDF files in documents without having to download the document and re-upload it into Procore. Just as there are markup capabilities in the Drawings tool, there need to be markup capabilities within the Specs and the Documents.
The ability to highlight and make notes on the Specs and PDF documents would be huge for us. Otherwise, we are still forced to print documents and make our notes with pen and paper; this doesn't help at all in transitioning to a paper free and more transparent workflow.

Tools for markup.

Currently Procore supports markup tool for drawings, which works very well both on computer and with mobile/tablet applications. However, document markups (mainly PDF) is not available. Markup of PDF files in documents with ability to email markups could be beneficial, especially in reducing the need for computers/laptops in the field.
The functionality is already created and implemented in other applications. It would be taking the same markup tool and just applying it in a new location.
Example: Interior scope of work, building required dock access forms. Template file in documents. You can open template, markup, send to required contacts. Can do the same another day. Reduces need for computer with which to markup.
Obviously more beneficial for the smaller projects that don't have capacity for a field office, but can still be useful in other circumstances (specification books, RFI backup, etc.).
