Duplicate email address across multiple companies
We are encountering situations where a single person acts as representative for a number of companies but channels all emails through one address. To deal with such scenarios, we would find it beneficial if Procore was able to duplicate a person's email address across multiple companies on the same directory.
We wanted to take a minute to provide an update.
We know this will be a very valuable feature; however, there is some underlying technology that we need to improve before we feel confident to deliver a feature like this.
As always, we’re so grateful for the continued input that each of you provided. At Procore, our vision is to improve the lives of everyone in construction. Building software to improve the lives of all roles within construction is so important to us and we continue to pursue this every day. The opinions each of you share here is critical to helping us understand if we’re heading the right direction. So, thank you!
We are new to procore and are having the same issue. Please reconsider this issue for implementation. Thank you.

Some users are contracted under more than 1 company name at once for different projects. It would be useful to be able to assign more than one company to a user when said user is contracted under one company on one project but on another project they are contracted under a different company. We can enter the DBA but the DBA does not show up when entering the responsible subcontractor to submittal's and RFIs, the original company comes up and sometimes it is not a DBA but rather two completely separate entities. This would prevent duplicate contacts in the directory and users having to create another email to manage two separate accounts.

We have clients who create a subsidiary company for each of their projects. The current directory functionality does not allow for this scenario to be easily tracked. This creates issues for multiple reasons. One example would be having the correct owner name on a client invoice which is being scrutinized by a lending institution. Many other "legal name" implications of this on contract documents. Please fix. thx

We have come up with a temporary solution to this which will hopefully help others :)
If the individual user is known to be associated with multiple companies, do not attach them to any companies and add the company names in the tags/keywords.
This has been tested and the individual appears when searching the company name that has been entered into the tags/keywords, along with the other members of the company searching.
Should the individual be found to be associated with another company in the future simply add that company name to tags/keywords.

Please make this feature a priority!!

Please, make this a top priority if possible. We have the same issue at our company.. Procore should be able to do this.. Not good that it doesn't.

I just went through this scenario:
I have a subcontractor doing work for me on a job that used to work for one of my other subcontractors. He was linked to the other subcontractor with the same email he currently has and is using for his business. I created a new company for this individual and when I put him in my project directory, it put the old company he worked for in, instead of his new company. I couldn't deactivate the old link because it recognized the email. There needs to be a way to create a new subcontractor from an old one and be able to move the email with them. I finally was able to get it to work by changing the old email address and name linked to the other subcontractor.

Allow more than one user to have same email address. Smaller businesses use one general email for multiple staff.

I agree, extremely frustrating - have multiple contacts that operate out of different locations and we can't enter them into the system. Have used other systems that accomplish this without any problems.

We have the same issue and please make this a priority!!

Almost every project we do is owned by an LLC under a larger development firm. The fact that this isn't prioritized makes no sense.

We need this functionality too. Our contracts are with project LLCs so we may have dozens of companies we have Prime Contract with that have the same person as the representative.
Please do this! We are constantly running into this problem and having to find a work around. This is such a common problem, this should be done.

This is an issue for us as a company as we have divisions with the same Directors that need to be linked to all divisions. It's very rare to have more than one email address within a company, but extremely common for one person to be linked to different parts/departments/divisions of one company - surely this should be prioritised now as it was first raised 6 years ago!

"Not prioritized for development" says your post. There has been a plethora of requests going back until at least 2014????

I VOTE FOR THIS AS A PRIORITY................We have one Owner with one email, but he owns multiple companies with different names, so we need his email to be apart of multiple jobs.

Would like the ability to include users under multiple companies within the Directory. We have vendors with offices in multiple states, but a Regional Manager manages the multiple offices.

We have several companies that we deal with that have employees working with different divisions of said companies, with different focuses, spec sections, etc, but I am not able to break this down in our company directory. We are trying to move our Estimating contacts solely into Procore, but cannot do this if I cannot add everyone in. I am hopeful that Procore is actively working on a solution to this problem, so that we can move forward with using the directory to its fullest.

It looks like the earliest this improvement was requested was almost 7 years ago (Sept 2013). At what point do you anticipate the underlying technology to be improved before this can be rolled out? We want to provide our Owners and Subcontractors as much ease as possible and to ask them to make up an email for a separate company is almost embarrassing considering how robust Procore is and how much we pay for it. Thank you.

I am also surprised that this is not a priority item for Procore!
We work with a large property holder that works with the GSA managing and upgrading offices for the IRS, SSA, HSA, COE and USGS across the country. Depending on the geographic location and property type, we bill multiple agencies that are all a part of one client. All invoicing goes to one central contact.
We now see that this is going to be a problem for us!
